We are Step Up Tutoring, LAUSD’s exclusive Partner for Free, one-on-one, virtual, at-home tutoring.
What is Step Up Tutoring?
Step Up delivers 1-on-1, high-impact tutoring, conducted online with a trained, caring tutor.
Students in grades 3-6 meet for tutoring twice a week for 45 minute sessions
Students receive tailored math support using a curriculum that is tailored to address their needs
Tutors focus on relationship-building and provide mentorship in a fun learning environment
How does It Work?
Parents sign up their child here and they get matched them with a tutor based on your schedule.

Most students receive two 45-minute sessions weekly, with availability every afternoon and evening.
Students receive 1-on-1 online tutoring in math from a consistent tutor.

Tutors work with students to build math skills and confidence and provides mentorship in a fun learning environment.
Schools and parents receive regular updates from our team on student’s progress.

Students can stay in the program as long as they want through the end of 6th grade

Briana Murray
My name is Briana Murray, and I am the Senior Manager of School Delivery. In short, that means that I am here to help YOU! From setting up an initial partnership to expanding an existing one, my job is to support you and the amazing work your school community is already doing. I am coming to Step Up Tutoring after 10 years in schools, 6 of which were in the classroom, and 4 of which were spent supporting first-year teachers in LAUSD and beyond. My heart continues to be in the school communities themselves, so please know I am here locally to support in whatever ways you may need. Whether you would like to have a presence at a Parent Resource Fair or have me come and speak with your teachers about the program, I am eager to support. We look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully working together to serve the wonderful community of Greater Los Angeles!
